"HSN is invalid as per customs tariff, provide valid 8 digit HSN from vendor"
What you see
HSN is invalid as per customs tariff, provide valid 8 digit HSN from vendor
The feed may sit at System Processing rather than failing Auto QC.
What it means
Ajio does not accept the supplied HSN as a valid eight-digit customs tariff code for the product.
Why it happens
The source may contain a shortened code, a value copied from a different product type, or a code that does not match the brand's tax treatment. Because HSN affects tax liability, this is not a field to infer from similar garments.
The placement of the failure is misleading: the product can clear QC and then remain in System Processing indefinitely.
How to fix it
Ask the brand's finance or tax team for the valid eight-digit HSN used for that product. Replace the value in the owning feed's correction file and re-upload it under a new filename.
If a finance-approved code still stalls, send the feed ID, product identifiers and approved HSN to your Ajio SPOC for confirmation of the portal's tax expectation.
How to avoid it next time
- Source HSN from the brand's finance team.
- Require exactly eight digits in the catalogue input.
- Never derive a code from product descriptions or another marketplace.
- Monitor System Processing separately from Auto and Manual QC.
- Batch unresolved tax questions into one SPOC message.
